Our Mission and Vision: Loving God and Loving Others
With God’s help, we will do this by: Sharing God’s love and the good news of Jesus Christ; Growing in Christ’s likeness; Extending justice and mercy to those in need; and Passing on God’s story to future generations.
The leadership of Preston Road has carefully aligned our financial operations and our budget with our mission and vision. Sixty-four percent of the budget shown below is for ministries. Thirty percent is set aside for future needs to be used as other ministry needs and opportunities arise. Together these amount to ninety-four percent of our budgeted contributions for 2026.
Building maintenance costs are allocated based on space usage. Payroll costs are allocated based on area of service.
Preston Road’s Missions & Outreach ministries are supported by both the operating budget and reserve accounts that are funded by member contributions and by funds set aside by the elders from prior years’ surplus. These ministries include Arms of Hope, Christian Works, Christ’s Family Clinic, Earl Young’s Team, Lifeline Chaplaincy, New Friends New Life, SMU Campus Ministry, The Human Impact, ULife Campus Ministry Consulting, Latin America, North Africa, David Allen/Missions Resource Network, Flint Global, New Life Behavior International, Living Hope for Honduras, and others.
Receipts and expenses in donor-restricted funds and funds set aside from prior years’ operations are not included in budgeted numbers. In 2025, we received $76,000 in contributions to these funds and used $658,500 for benevolence, missions, and outreach.
