Ed Ballard
Ed and his wife, Beth, have been happily married for 43 years and have been members of Preston Road Church since 2003. They are incredibly devoted to their family—daughters Sara and Margaret, and their three grandsons and granddaughter, who fill their hearts with joy. Ed is the owner of Earthtex Landscape Management and Ballard Construction Services, while Beth, after a fulfilling career at The Winston School, continues to make a meaningful impact through her volunteer work. Together, they are deeply involved in Bible Study Fellowship and lovingly serve in the Children’s Ministry.

Shawn Brentham
Shawn and his wife, Kim, have been married for 27 years. They have 3 children, Abbie (26) who is married to Luis Sandoval, Violet Gracie (22), and Mollie (14). They met while acting in New York and have been members at PRCC since 2001. Shawn teaches theater arts at Irving High School and Kim is an Elementary Theatre teacher at Garner Fine Arts Academy. Shawn has served as a volunteer in the Children’s Ministry, taught in Adult Education, and sang on the Praise Team. Both are very active in our Children’s Ministry and Youth Ministry.

Dan Branch
Dan and his wife Stacey have lived and worked in Dallas for over three decades and have been members of PRCC since 1987. They live in University Park, have been married for 40 years and have five grown children who were all baptized at PRCC. Dan is an attorney and shareholder with Winstead PC and a former member of the Texas House of Representatives. He has been a long time Bible class teacher, deacon, and elder since 2009.

Brad Cheves
Brad and his wife, Angela, were married in 1992 and they have three boys. They have been members at Preston Road since 1998 (with a three-year hiatus in California from 2001-04). Brad has served as an Elder since 2009 and remains active in Adult Education. Brad is the Vice President of Development and External Affairs at SMU.

Mat Dusza
Mat and his wife, Shanna, have been married for 22 years. Shanna has been a member at Preston Road since 1999, and Mat joined her in 2002. They have three daughters: Evie (15), Adelaide (11), and Annie (11). Mat serves as General Manager and Designer of Green Space Playgrounds, and Shanna works there as an administrator after serving in the PRCC office for 15 years. Mat has permanent residence in the US but is a native of Australia and an avid soccer fan. He served in the Children’s Ministry, and now actively serves in the Youth Ministry and teaches Adult Bible Classes.

Cooter Hale
Cooter and his wife, Claire, were married in 1983. They raised their two grown sons here and have been members at Preston Road since 1983. Cooter has served as an Elder since 2005 and teaches regularly in our Adult Learning Communities on Sunday. Cooter is a retired Federal Judge and taught in the SMU Law School for 15 years.

Cameron Hartsell
Cameron and his wife, Emily, have been married for 12 years. Emily has been a member at Preston Road since 2011, and Cameron joined her in 2015. They have a son, Sam (10), and a daughter, Grace (8). Cameron spent almost 5 years in Honduras working with a Christian ministry there and developed a deep appreciation for the culture, language, as well as a much bigger view of the global Church. He is self-employed working in Real Estate, Construction and Development, while Emily works as a Real Estate Agent and Investor. Cameron has been a part of our Missions Team and is a leader in the Children’s Ministry and Men’s Ministry.

Paul Heard
Paul and his wife, Pam, met at PRCC and have been members since 1987. Pam is a full-time grandmother having retired from a career as CPA. Paul works in sales management at IBM. The Heards have been very active at PRCC throughout the years in numerous small groups, teaching in adult and children’s education, short term mission trips to Guatemala, serving as Ministry Leaders in our youth ministry, and most recently as Adult Class Leaders.    They have three adult children one of which, Carolyn, is a member of Preston Road along with her husband and daughter.

Brian Jones
Brian and his wife, Vivian, have been married for almost 21 years. They have been members of Preston Road since 2012 (with a brief hiatus in New York for 3 years). They have one daughter, Gabrielle (13), whom Brian had the joy of baptizing here in 2022.  Brian is a Senior Product Manager with JP Morgan Chase, and Vivian is a Family Medicine Physician. They have served as Bible Class Leaders and Vivian has been a tremendous help consulting us regarding medical issues. In addition, Brian has been a leader in our Men’s Ministry.

Kenneth Kirklin
Kenneth Kirklin and his wife Suzanne have been married for 32 years. They have been members at PRCC since 1995 and raised both of their boys here.  Kenneth works for KPMG in their Advisory Management Consulting practice and Suzanne is retired after a career in Physical Therapy. Kenneth has served on the Barnabas Committee, as Chairman of the Operations Committee, and taught Adult and Children’s classes, while Suzanne has always been very active in the Children’s Ministry even serving as Children’s Minister for a while. The Kirklins have been on multiple mission trips and most recently went to Guatemala.

Nathan Nash
Nathan and his wife, Rachel, have been married for almost 13 years.  Nathan has been a member at Preston Road since 2010. Rachel joined him here in 2011 and was also baptized here in 2014.  They have three boys: Woods (9), Will (7), and Wyatt (5). Nathan is Co-Founder and Managing Director of Steeplechase Ventures (Commercial Real Estate), and Rachel is an Artist. Nathan has served as Chairman of the Board in the Texas Tech Alumni Association and is involved as Board Member or volunteer in several non-profits and community endeavors. At PRCC, he played an integral part in the renovation of our sanctuary and building, he consults in matters involving our facilities and is a servant leader in our Children’s Ministry and Men’s Ministry.

Stan Shipley
Stan and his wife, Cindy, have been married for 59 years and have three grown children and two grandchildren. Stan has been an Elder since 2009 and served as the Chairman of the Elders for several years. After a career at Bank of America spanning more than 30 years, he retired in 2016 and now oversees a family office.
