The Human Impact is helping Dallas’ homeless in a remarkably simple way. It is through the oldest means of helping others, of loving them. It’s through friendship. “We see dignity, worth, value and most prominently the image of God reflected in our homeless friends. As we love, we get to experience how we are loved by God … in our messiness and joy, and through our growth. We delight in hearing their stories, building trust, and learning how we can support them as they work towards stability in community. We are friends, in it with some of society’s most marginalized for the long haul, and we consider this work a privilege.” Visit thehumanimpact.org to learn more.
Preston Road is proud to sponsor Mustangs for Christ – our ministry to the students of SMU. In addition to programs and events that are geared toward students, we also employ a full-time Campus Minister who spends a great deal of his time on the SMU Campus. He meets with students to offer words of wisdom and experience, leads weekly Bible Studies, and much more. We occasionally offer Adopt-a-Student programs where PRCC families “adopt” a student to mentor, encourage, introduce to other members, etc. If you are interested in learning more, contact Jim Barnett, our SMU Campus Minister at 214.526.7221 or email him at jim@prestonroad.org
