College is a crucial time in a young person’s life with so many changes and choices coming their way, so Preston Road is proud to sponsor Mustangs for Christ – our ministry to the students of SMU. If you look around our church family, you will not only see that we minister to college students, but you’ll also see that they minister to us, as our students get involved with our youth and children’s ministry and several other aspects of our church life. Below are just a few of the opportunities for college students.
Wednesdays 8pm Hughes Trigg Theater. One28 (from Colossians 1:28) is a place where several Christian campus ministries come together in unity for authentic worshihp, relevant Bible teaching, community and free food.
Adopt a Student Program. Families from Preston Road offer a “home away from home” with an occasional meal, a care package during exams, a place to study or other creative ways to make students feel lik a part of the family, even when they are miles away from theirs.
Community Groups of 3-12 students meet regularly all over campus or in homes at various times throughout the week to discuss their journey as they seek to discover or deepen their faith through accountability with other believers or challenging discussions with skeptics.
In addition, we also offer rides to church, bible classes, pre-marital counseling and occasional dinners where prominent men and women in their select fields meet with students to offer mentoring and networking and discuss the role that faith plays in their day-to-day lives.
